If you decide to buy plywood, make sure that it is thick enough (at least one-half inch or thicker) to be able to hold your stuff without bowing or collapsing. Plywood should be “finish grade” (good-quality wood that is ready for a simple coat of paint or stain) and won’t look as if you picked it up out of your neighbor’s trash or off the street on garbage night.
